Crosslake Community Schools is a public charter school. That means we are part of Minnesota’s public education system, but we operate independently from a traditional school district.
Unlike district schools, which generally serve students based on where they live, charter schools are schools of choice. Families choose to enroll at CCS, and our school is independently governed by its own Board of Directors. Every Minnesota charter school must have an approved authorizer, which is an organization responsible for overseeing the school and holding it accountable to the commitments established in its charter contract.
Crosslake Community Schools is authorized by Osprey Wilds. Our authorizer provides ongoing oversight of the school while CCS maintains the independence and local governance that distinguish charter schools from traditional school districts.
